Sustainability and environmental protection

The protection of nature and the environment is an integral part of the ‘games makers’ corporate philosophy. The best example of this is the long-standing use of renewable energies. As far back as in 1999, a wind turbine was installed at the Lübbecke adp plant, followed by a photovoltaic system in 2012. With the commissioning of the new logistics warehouse in the summer of 2014, the second PV system went on line; 13 more are installed on the roofs of various arcades in Germany. As the operation of the plants requires neither coal, nor oil or gas, the Group can achieve a targeted reduction in CO2 emissions. Furthermore, the Gauselmann Group operates three thermal power stations at the Espelkamp and Lübbecke locations and gains additional electric energy and heat.

Environmentally-friendly machine production and recycling

As a pioneer in the gaming machine industry the Gauselmann Group was the first company to widely use environmentally-friendly LEDs in its amusement machines. In this way machine technology was sustainably improved overall. In rental and leasing business, the company also places a clear focus on conserving valuable resources, with at least 50% of equipment parts being recyclable. And because only fully functional machines re-enter the business cycle, environmentally-friendly recycling and highest quality can be meaningfully combined.

Certified commitment

The Gauselmann Group has four certification areas: quality management, environmental management, occupational health and safety management and energy management. As one of the first companies in Germany, adp Gauselmann GmbH’s development, production, sales and service divisions were certified by TÜV Rheinland in November 2016 in accordance with the new international DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 standard. At the end of 2013, the company had already been certified by TÜV Rheinland in compliance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2004. The company’s environmental management system is designed to conserve resources, identify potential savings and reduce waste and emissions. On this basis, the company’s organisational and technical processes are continuously improved. Furthermore, adp Gauselmann GmbH successfully completed an occupational health and safety certification process in compliance with BS OHSAS 18001in 2014, which was rolled out to all Gauselmann Großhandel subsidiaries in 2015. adp Gauselmann is thus one of the few companies in the market to concurrently comply with all four standards. The Gauselmann Group has also supported efficient energy management for many years. To reduce overall energy consumption, minimise costs and meet the respective statutory requirements, the company introduced the energy management system in compliance with ISO 50001. For this, the Gauselmann Group was certified by SGS TÜV Saar.
