The corporate beginnings of Gebrüder Gauselmann GmbH go back to the sole proprietorship founded by Paul Gauselmann in 1957 in the name of his wife, Elisabeth Gauselmann. The company was seen right from the beginning as a competent partner for the professional operation of amusement machines with and without stakes and prizes in the food and drinks segment. A second company set up in Oelde in 1967 specialised in operations in the food and drinks segment under the management of Eugen Gauselmann. Whilst brother Willi was in charge in Espelkamp, Paul Gauselmann was responsible as sole owner for all other activities in the group.
Gauselmann Großhandel as the sales organisation within adp Gauselmann GmbH is the partner of choice in the field of electronic entertainment. Sales are generated throughout Germany via a nationwide network of currently eleven subsidiaries as well as online shops that are accessible via the adp Internet portal.

Schneider Automaten GmbH, based in Cologne, predominantly sells products manufactured by the Gauselmann Group. However, the distributor’s portfolio also includes products of other well-known manufacturers. The company Walberer Automaten founded in1987 merged with Schneider Automaten in 2010.

The Gauselmann Group has been active in international markets since as far back as 1985, firstly as Stella International Spielgeräte GmbH and, from 2003 onwards, through MEXIM GmbH & Co. KG. The companies were merged in 2005 as part of the realignment of the international business activities to form Merkur Gaming GmbH, which since then has been responsible for the development and sales of gaming machines and casino slot machines, as well as video lottery terminals (VLT) and server-based gaming (SBG) systems for the international markets. The company was integrated into adp Gauselmann GmbH in 2015. The Merkur Gaming brand name will remain.

Merkur Freizeit Leasing GmbH, as the financial services provider of the Gauselmann Group, offers its customers rent, lease and licence models that are optimally adapted to the changing market conditions and thus represent a fair alternative to conventional investment loans. The Gauselmann Group opened its first international entertainment centre in 1986. Merkur Casino GmbH was founded in 2006 in order to further promote arcade expansion outside of Germany. The company name was changed to Merkur International GmbH in 2011, then to CASINO MERKUR International GmbH in 2014, which in the meantime operates far in excess of 200 modern entertainment centres in ten European countries.

Manufacturing of the products developed in Limburg is carried out exclusively and in accordance with ISO 9001 standards at the adp Gauselmann GmbH plant in Lübbecke. Under the brand name MEGA Web, the company also offers coin-operated Internet terminals.
Merkur Immobilien- und Beteiligungs GmbH
Merkur Immobilien- und Beteiligungs GmbH plans, builds and administers real estate throughout Germany and internationally for the entire Gauselmann Group. This includes business premises with flats and also shops as well as service, production and logistics areas. The subsidiary company was responsible for a total of 127 real estate projects with an acquisition value of 250 million euros in the 2014 business year.

Cashpoint Agentur & IT-Service GmbH has been active in the sports betting market since 1996. The Gauselmann Group purchased a controlling share of the Austrian company in 2005 and completely integrated it into the corporate group in 2014. Cashpoint operates more than 5,000 point-of-sale positions in the form of betting shops, kiosk systems and self-service terminals alongside licensed Internet platforms.

In 2008, the Gauselmann Group purchased a 50 percent controlling share in Blueprint Gaming, an upcoming multi-platform developer for digital games. Since 2012, the group of companies has been the sole shareholder of Blueprint Gaming with locations in the UK, USA and the Philippines.

The Spanish Merkur Dosniha is responsible for the sale of multigamers in Spain for the Gauselmann Group. The company also has its own development capacities: Merkur Dosniha adapts the Merkur games to the Spanish market and the preferences of players there.
The British arcade chain Praesepe has been part of the Gauselmann Group since 2012. This was the largest acquisition in the history of the corporate group, with a transaction volume of approximately 100 million euros. More than 170 entertainment centres and bingo clubs belong to Praesepe, which now also offers gaming machines featuring the games from the Gauselmann think tank.
Merkur Gaming India Private Limited
Merkur Gaming India PVT Ltd. was founded in 2012 as a subsidiary of adp Gauselmann GmbH and has since been responsible for programming and mathematics of various games for gaming (AWP) machines. In addition to traditional slot machine games, Merkur Gaming India also develops mobile applications such as apps, and ports slots to online platforms. The research and development centre focuses on games-related IT and software development. Merkur Gaming India collaborates closely with the Indian subsidiary, Lucky Nugget Gaming Pvt. Ltd.
Lucky Nugget Gaming Private Limited
The Indian game design studio Lucky Nugget Gaming has been part of the Gauselmann Group since 2013. The research and development centre is principally responsible for game design – from developing new ideas, via audiovisual implementation, to the finished game. Lucky Nugget Gaming works hand in hand with the parent, Merkur Gaming India.

Regal Gaming and Leisure is an operator of amusement with prizes (AWP) machines from the UK. The company plays a predominant role particularly in the UK food and drinks sector. The Gauselmann Group invested in a shareholding in former Sceptre Leisure PLC in 2013 and then acquired the entire business in 2015 to increase its market presence yet further in the UK market and successfully place its own products in the much sought-after pub segment.
Merkur Spielbanken Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH & Co. KG
Merkur Spielbanken Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH & Co. KG and its partner Stadtcasino Baden AG from Switzerland received the licensing assurance to operate public casinos in Saxony-Anhalt in summer 2013. Following granting of the licence, the opening of the first casino in Leuna-Günthersdorf followed in December 2014. The opening of a second Merkur casino in Magdeburg took place in April 2016. The licence permits four further locations in Saxony-Anhalt.
